Is it safe to drink out of a glass bottle that contained DCM?
I have one of the large glass brown jugs from organic chemistry lab and wanted to know if it is a safe place to store drinking water/ice tea/lemon-aid in the fridge. I have washed the bottle completely. I know dichloromethane is used to prepare some food items (decaf coffee) but want to make sure I won’t be drinking any carcinogens.
i wouldn’t since even a small chance of this type isn’t worth it since there are a lot of new containers and dcm sounds like a good solvent which could have some bad dissolved impurities even if its not bad by itself.
