Rooibos Organic Tea
OK, so maybe I’m a bit paranoid…?
My daughter is 6 months old, I just found out today that the daycare is giving her “Rooibos” Tea. It is a Red Tea that is found in South Africa. She says that babies have been drinking it as long as she’s been a nanny and never had any problems. I checked it up and Lipton actually have a Organic “Rooibos” Tea especially for babies.
The thing for me is, shouldn’t she have asked me how I feel about it, before giving it to my daughter. I know that tea doesn’t have a lot of caffeine in it, but what if I didn’t want my daughter to drink any caffeine? She says it is better for my daughter to drink the tea than sugary juices.
What would you do?
She is giving your 6 month old a tea that you know nothing about nor did she notify you about it or ask your permission??
I’d pull your child out of her care and let her know that is NOT ok to do. What if your daughter had an allergic reaction to the tea and you had no clue what she had ingested to cause it?
I used to do home daycare, I would not even put sunblock or bugspray on the kids unless I had the parents permission first, let alone give them some kind of funky tea.
